As the Title Sponsor we hope you'll join us July 25 at the Glendale Golf and Country Club for the fun yet competitive Allstar Celebrity Horse Race starting at 6:00 PM.

"Following the Celebrity Pro-Am, 10 celebrities will be participating in the tournament’s Allstar Celebrity Horse Race – an exciting specialty event which will have 10 teams competing in a fun, crowd-pleasing alternate shot, elimination format that will provide loads of entertainment for all sport fans. Each team will consist of a celebrity and a Mackenzie Tour professional."

Alberta Motorcycle Safety Society Campaign Launch

Allstar was at the Alberta Motorcycle Safety Society official campaigne launch for 2016 at Edmonton's City Hall supplying a bit of event support.

I wanted to provide some feedback and say Ryan and Chris were amazing at getting things set up, they made everything happen so easily.

Upon tear down, because it took a bit to get people moved out due to post launch speech interviews and a couple bikes placed in front of the stage, their patience was exemplary. They left the area just as it was when they arrived, clean and tidy.

Life is always better when you can work with such professionals who are kind and courteous.

Rogers Place

Allstar was contracted to supply, install, site coordinate, inspect, test and warranty a facility wide state-of-the-art sound reinforcement system in Edmonton's new Rogers Place.

Farewell Rexall Place

April 6, 2016 was a historic day for the citizens of Edmonton as they said farewell to Rexall Place. Whether it was the noon hour gathering of the Oilers Alumni in Churchill Square or the Oilers playing their last ever competition in Rexall Place Allstar was there. From sound reinforcement and a small stage in the square, rigging and lighting inside and outside of the arena to video displays on the concourse Allstar was behind the scenes for this red letter day. Of course the icing on the cake was the Oilers 6-2 victory over the Vancouver Canucks to close out a ten year stint at Rexall.

The next time we see the Oilers play a home game will be in their new Rogers Place where Allstar is installing a new state-of-the-art sound system.

Beaver Arts Centre

The Beaver Regional Arts Centre in Holden Alberta recently had Allstar deliver and install a new twenty foot Draper screen along with a Panasonic projector. Following are some kind words to express how they felt about their Allstar Experience.

"I don't know how many installers Allstar has, but two of the best came out to Holden today. Everything went smoothly and we couldn't be happier. The electrician came out shortly after they left and wired up the switch, and when I finally found the manual I got busy projecting a few images."

"I wanted to say thanks very much to Al and Bill, they were great to work with. We're grateful that everything went so well and so is the whole town, judging by the number of people who didn't even know Holden had a theatre last week versus this afternoon!"

Roger

The Taylor Centre for the Performing Arts

Hear it Touch it Feel it - A Day with Brad and Ashley

We had a productive day with Brad and Ashley from Yamaha Commercial Audio August 19th. The NEXO M6 cabinets with the LS600 subs were impressive to listen to. Aside from the great sound the rigging for the M6 boxes makes it real easy to fly or stack them.

The TF Series Digital Mixing Console proved easy to use and at the price point a good choice for schools, houses of worship, clubs and rental houses.

Thanks to all who attended, we hope to see you again soon. If you missed weren't able to make it out and have an interest contact one of our Edmonton sales reps.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

LEADING AV INTEGRATORS FROM ALBERTA AND BC FORM NEW COMPANY, TO BE CALLED “ALLSTAR PACIFIC INTEGRATED MEDIA SOLUTIONS”

Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada - March 26, 2014 - After a year engaged in joint venture projects, Rodger Boyce and Gary Urlacher of Allstar Show Industries Inc. and Fred Michael, principal of Rocky Mountain Production Services Ltd, unveiled their new company today. “It was apparent to all of us that the synergy and cooperation exhibited by our Vancouver staff over the last year called for a deepening of the relationship in order to take full advantage of the opportunities coming our way,” commented Rodger Boyce.

Said Michael, “Together, we completed several major projects in 2013 that combined audio and video technology under a single digital control system in a wide assortment of settings, from performing arts centres and music venues to community centres, the classroom and the corporate environment.

Our roots in this community are deep and the needs of our clients are varied and ever-changing. We see this venture as the next logical step in order to offer the best that technology has to offer, whether it be projectors, video displays, concert audio systems, paging systems or the control systems that tie it all together.”

According to Gary Urlacher, “The most important word in our new name is ‘Solutions’. Of course, we can sell you a video projector or microphone but the greater value lies in how we design integrated solutions for today’s complex technologies. Our clients get the benefit of over 50 years’ combined company experience.”

Allstar Pacific will carry on business at its current location in East Vancouver.

Allstar Director Gary Urlacher - A day at the Stollery Children’s Hospital

Recently Allstar Director Gary Urlacher spent a day at the Stollery Children’s Hospital with his 63 Corvette Promod and here is what he had to say.

“We had a great day at the Stollery Children’s Hospital. It was a great honor to be able to help some of the children have a better day. To see some of their smiles as they got the chance to sit in a race car and be away from their daily routine was priceless.

We went upstairs and met a lot of kids who were not able to get down to see the cars and got to talk to them and bring a few more smiles here and there.

The Stollery is an amazing facility and we are lucky to have such a place in our city but it is heart breaking to see some of these kids and their conditions. Just knowing we were able to brighten up the day for some of them was such a good feeling.

They say these kids talk about this for days so our efforts pay off for more than the moment.

I need to send out a big thank you to John Mandlis for his multiyear commitment to brightening up the children's lives and giving us this great opportunity. One outstanding person if you ask me.

We also need to thank the Edmonton Police Service for escorting us to the hospital and blocking off the road so we could safely unload and load the cars. It was fun. Last but not least, thank you to Jim Mason for helping me with the car and speaking with the children while I was upstairs.

All in all it was a great day with so many people coming together for such a good cause.”

P.S. “The children loved the bandage on my hood scoop, after the fire its a little sick.”

Allstar's New Four Camera Production System

Allstar Show Industries now offers a complete four camera HD production system based on the JVC GY-HM790U HD SDI camera with capability to record full HD video onboard via dual SDHC card slots. At the heart of the GY-HM790U is the new Dynamic Digital Signal Processor. Processing is performed on the full progressive 1920 x 1080 signal, regardless of the camcorder's settings, ensuring the highest picture quality in any shooting mode. All major HD resolutions are supported, including 1920 x 1080, 1440 x 1080 and 1280 x 720.

Designed to Achieve Higher HD Picture Quality with JVC's Advanced Technologies

The three 1/3-inch progressive CCD design works in conjunction with JVC's original Triplex Offset technology to dramatically increase horizontal, vertical and diagonal resolution. The high-performance DDSP (Dynamic Digital Signal Processor) allows you to achieve pictures of stunning definition up to full progressive 1920 x 1080. These technologies are complemented by the true HD 14x zoom lens from Canon, offering less chromatic aberration and higher resolution throughout the zoom range.

The JVC KA-M790 Multicore Studio Interface system is a compact interface unit that connects to the back of the GY-HM790 shoulder-mount camcorder to provide full studio/EFP capabilities. Available functions include intercom controls, call switch/indicator, and a power source select switch. A 26-pin connector lets you use existing 26-pin control cables, while teleprompter and intercom connectors provide further studio functionality. A large LCD 8.4 inch HD viewfinder is provided on three tripod mounted cameras featuring full HD/SDI return video, with one of the cameras housed in the KA-790 Studio Sled with a Fujinon 17X HD telephoto lens and the fourth camera designated as the hand held roving unit. The JVC RM-HP790DU HD/SD Camera Control Unit is the remote for use with the JVC GY-HM790U ProHD solid-state media camcorder that connects to the camcorder through a multicore/BNC hybrid cable, which ensures lossless SDI transmission. The RM-HP790DU provides extensive control functions, including gamma level, paint, knee, gain, iris, black level, and shutter. All four CCU’s are connected to the RM-LP20U remote camera controllers and are genlockable to the Black Magic ATEM ME 1 HD SDI switcher reducing latency to less than one frame on the HD SDI outputs.

The ATEM ME 1 is a true broadcast grade panel with premium quality switches, faders and joysticks that are normally only found on the most expensive switchers available. ATEM even uses an FAA certified operating system for a true broadcast grade switcher! ATEM is the most creative solution for live switching! All transitions are instantly available with a button push on the control panel and include the same cut, mix and wipe found on traditional mixers! Plus you also get extra innovative ATEM transitions including dip, DVE, graphic wipe and stinger! It's simple to load clips into the 2 built in media players for exciting custom animated graphic transitions. ATEM features a built in DVE with 3D borders, light source and drop shadow! You can even use the DVE for transitions, or route into any of the 4 built in keyers for incredible multi-layer compositions! The ATEM 1 M/E model gives you 8 video inputs, 3 Aux outputs, SDI, HDMI and analog program outputs, SDI and HDMI multi view outputs, USB 3.0 as well as down converted SDI and composite outputs.

The heavy-duty 164' multi-core camera cable is designed to connect the studio equipped JVC professional camera to a CCU. It includes dual integrated HD/SD-SDI cables with BNC connectors terminating at a block on each end of the cable. The cable jacket is made of a heavy duty vinyl. It is slip proof when pulled in a studio or on location and rewinds without binding or crimping. Four BNC-BNC cables are provided for convenience. For long Front of House runs Allstar Show Industries also offers the VC-DHP114M heavy-duty 330’ (100 m) multi-core camera cable.

Break Forth Canada 2013 an Event to Remember

2013 Break Forth attendees were once again treated to a great experience. Allstar Show Industries provided sound video and lighting for 53 class and workshop rooms as well as the main concert stage. Located in seven locations spread throughout downtown Edmonton, venues were the Shaw Conference Centre, Weston Hotel, Alberta College, Sutton Place, McDougal Church, The Crowne Plaza Chateau Lacombe and Stanley A. Milner Library. Allstar crew managed the set-up with the help of Break Forth volunteers in a single day.

Halls A, B and C of the Shaw Conference Centre were set-up to provide sound video and lighting for three individual rooms serving classes / lectures and then opened up and combined for concerts. A concert highlight was an amazing show by Amy Grant. Read a review by Mike Ross of Amy’s concert at gigcity.ca.

Josh Schultz commented, “Great job so far you guys! Loving the sound coming out of your systems."

Barry Moss commented, “I loved the graphics on the LED walls, even if it did make photography a bit more difficult with back lighting.”

Arlen Salte (Executive Director, Break Forth Ministries) commented, “Elsa and I would like to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for the superb job you did at Break Forth Canada 2013.
You and your team made this the best year ever. The compliments on the quality of sound, lighting and the killer LED wall seem non-stop.
You are a gift to us and to the thousands of people who were profoundly blessed and encouraged. Please pass on our thanks to everyone at Allstar who did such an exceptional job.”

Classes, workshops and concerts weren’t the only thing at Break Forth. The trade show floor was a buzz of activity as attendees visited the booths gathering information from exhibiters. Allstar staff manned two 10’ x 20’ booths displaying sound, video, lighting and staging products. Allstar partners Panasonic and Sennheiser were also in attendance with booths and product specialists.

We are already looking forward to next year and Break Forth 2014. .

Allstar was very pleased to partner with Incite Marketing and Studio Post to put on an amazing show for the 30th Anniversary of YESS in Edmonton.

On May 8th 2012, YESS hosted a reception and "multimedia extraveganza" to launch their new brand and thank their donors for their support.

Using two 20,000 lumen Barco HD-20 projectors, Allstar projected an amazing video piece onto the 80ft by 30ft facade of the Armory Youth Shelter in Old Strathcona.

Allstar also provided audio and building lighting for the event.

Allstar Leads The Way In LED Video

We've dramatically expanded our stock of LED video screens (or jumbotrons, or video walls, depending on your preference!). We're now one of the largest suppliers of LED video panels in Canada.

Our product line inclues panels with 4mm, 6mm, 7mm, 12mm, 18mm, 37mm, 50mm and 75mm pixel spacing. That size is the distance between each LED/pixel. The smaller the number, the more LEDs, the better the picture looks.

We carry both indoor and outdoor screens in both solid and flexible forms.

LED screens are available for both rental and installation.
