Professional Audio. Video. Lighting

This project was for the supply, fabrication, installation and commissioning of a fully functioning audio-visual presentation system. SFU Centre for Dialogue is located in downtown Vancouver and opened in 2000. The system was designed to achieve extreme flexibility, whereby video and audio signals are routed to multiple destinations in each area, other parts of the building, recorded, or provided to the media.

The system is divided into four areas each with its own control room:

The Concourse Level - this level has three divisible general purpose meeting rooms featuring video projection, program sound reproduction and speech reinforcement. The control room provides control for the three rooms as well as central A/V support for the instructional Media Services staff.

The Main Dialogue Hall - features seating in the round for 154 delegates. This unique room features delegate reinforcement and simultaneous translation systems, along with video projection, program sound reproduction, speech reinforcement and a PTZ multi-camera system.

The Second Floor - consists of office and translation rooms with provision for intercom locations. There is a small amount of A/V on this floor.

The Third and Fourth Floors - each have four meeting/conference rooms. These rooms each feature video projection, program sound reproduction and speech reinforcement. The fourth floor has an additional meeting/video conference room with a portable video conference system. Control rooms on each of these floors are located in the rear projection space of the largest meeting room.
